to the desert

This summer we had our first K.D. Haught family reunion.
I'm still trying to figure out why we hadn't done this sooner.
H bar H
Thanks to these good looking folks we were able to get together for a rip roarin' time!

And from these two
you have this....

We almost had the whole bunch....
sadly we missed out on having Ben and his family there.
The Haught Home was party central for a good 3 day straight!!

Thursday - Day One
All arrived....
after a big fiasco with Nick, Anna and the girls we were all safely together!

Kitty got right to playing with Grandma Haught's dress up.
This dress stole her heart from the second she layed eyes on Kendyll wearing it.
Once Kendyll took it off Kitta scooped it up!

Friday - Day Two

Grandpa Haught did it right with our kids. Fishing is a favorite for Austin and Kate.
Austin isn't familiar with trout fishing and literally could not keep his hands off the fish that were caught!

i love the many faces we get from our lids when trying to capture the moment!

After they caught all the fish in the lake... it was time for "camping".
Everyone join in on the fun around the campfire. Once it came time for bed... the women folk and babies headed back to our "tents" and crawled into our "sleeping bags" which were located on Pine Crest Dr. while the men folk hacked it out with the big little kids.
I know the color on this picture is all blown out but this is a perfect representation of the love that these girls have for each other.
They are already best friends!!
kids..
our family out "camping"... babe in hiking boots and everything. You can see how serious i was about it all... wearing my sandals. ha
our cute baby and her poor sore teeth enjoying the cool mountain air

Saturday - Day Three

The kids had a water day... good news since us FL people were dried out like strips of jerky from all the desert air! After The kids enjoyed their little pool and a surprise balloon fight with Uncle Levi and Uncle Jaeson, Grandma put on an amazing hunt for hidden treasure!
Then we had a visit from the ol' Cowboy himself, Grandpa Austin Dale Haught.
That then turned into a photo sesh for all and delicious home made ice cream
mmm mm mm!

Our little sensitive children both couldn't handle the heat of the water balloon fight and had to take a little break.
Isn't this what summer is all about... this picture right here!

All the treasure hunters setting off to solve their clues.
Lottie Lou with her Great Grandpa Haught

The fishing contest winners... our boy took home the "biggest spots", again he was ecstatic because we aren't used to seeing fish like that out here!
And a good old fashioned muscle shot of the champions
Our little honey bear being a cute as ever!!

4 generations of handsome Haught men
little Austin Dale Samuel Dale Kenneth Dale Austin Dale

the Austin Dale Haughts
Sr. ADH is the real deal folks!

Once the sun stared to go down we pulled out the home made ice cream and sat around and just enjoyed each other one last time.
Holly was in a good place here with her ice cream

Kitty Jo has always had a place in her little heart for her Grandpa Haught.
She loves cuddling up with him.

the girls
Twins.... i don't know... looks like it to me!

A bunch of good looking families if you ask me!
best little cousin friends
Kate playing in Grandma's most amazing play house a girl could dream of.

Departure Day

the look out tower.

They have people sit in these towers to look for fires...
you seriously can see for days!

my babe is so so stinkin handsome!

on our drive back to the valley we stopped at the Salt River Canyon. Breath taking for many different reasons which consist of, but not limited to...
It's a a beautiful view
my children could fall off the edge and I wouldn't be able to save them.
my hands are starting to sweat just typing this.

So many emotions surge through my body looking at this picture. It is such a beautiful picture... the background, the colors, my cute baby's face! The fact that it looks like she has about 2 inches of the ledge before she is toast... lost to the canyon. I looked at this picture after we were home from our trip and I literally could not fall asleep that night thinking about how i wouldn't have been able to save her without committing suicide. It looks so dangerous but truth be known, there is ground that you can actually walk around on or if you are Austin can find a good place to pee... behind the rock wall and if she had indeed lost her balance and fallen backward off the wall she would have landed on the ground on the other side. But this picture portrays that its a steep drop on the other side of the wall. I just had to clear that up for myself one more time because this looks like a picture taken my a looney tunes mother that doesn't care about her sweet baby!

any one of the next 3 pictures should win a prize... they are amazing!

And before we knew it we were on the plane heading back to the swampy air of Florida.
hoping the next Haughtest family reunion we will be able to host at
Wild Florida!!!!!!!
